Auburn among contenders to land four-star CB Jordan Thomas

Auburn will battle several power programs for Jordan Thomas’ commitment, which will be announced next week.

Auburn football remains a heavy contender to land a four-star cornerback from New Jersey ahead of next week’s scheduled commitment date.

Jordan Thomas, the No. 23 cornerback from the 2026 class and New Jersey’s No. 3 overall recruit in the cycle, will announce his commitment on Monday, May 12. Auburn is in the mix, along with Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and SEC rival Texas A&M, to land his commitment.

Thomas tells On3’s Steve Wiltfong that every finalist did a “great job” in their recruiting efforts and that he wants to play for a program that will value and challenge him. Thomas feels that Auburn fits the mold.

“They’re a very family-oriented staff,” Thomas said of Auburn. “They have a plan for me and the defensive staff I feel they’re one of the best in the nation.”

Recruiting outlets place Ohio State and Notre Dame at the front of the race for Thomas in the weekend leading up to his commitment. On3 gives the Buckeyes an 18.1% chance to land Thomas while Rivals’ futurecast points to Notre Dame. 247Sports does not have a crystal ball prediction for Thomas at the time of this post.

Auburn’s 2026 class ranks No. 24 in the nation with seven commitments. Of those seven, only one is a defensive back, three-star safety Wayne Henry from St. Francis Academy in Baltimore, Maryland.
