Spartans continuing to pursue, prioritize 4-star RB Damon Ferguson

Michigan State football is continuing to make four-star running back Damon Ferguson a top priority on the recruiting trail.

Ferguson posted on his social media X account that Spartans assistant head coach and running backs coach Keith Bhonapha completed an in-home visit on Thursday. Ferguson hails from Baltimore and is one of the top running back targets on the Spartans’ board at the moment.

Ferguson is listed as a four-star prospect in 247Sports’ composite ratings. He holds an official rating of 89.33 in 247Sports’ composite ratings system.

Ferguson ranks as the No. 26 running back in 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is also listed as the No. 7 player from Maryland and No. 379 overall prospect in the class.

Michigan State is one of more than 40 schools to extend an offer to Ferguson. Michigan State extended him an offer in late January, and some of the more notable programs to offer Ferguson includes Arkansas, Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Northwestern, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, UCF, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

The Spartans made Ferguson’s top schools list that was released last month. Michigan State continues to make him a priority and would be a massive get for head coach Jonathan Smith should they land a commitment. Ferguson currently is not scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan State this summer — he is only lined up to visit Indiana, North Carolina, Pitt, Virginia and Duke.
