Football: How does USA Today determine the top 100 recruits in Florida?
Recruiting analysts Jon Santucci and Nick Wilson explain how they compile the annual USA Today Florida Network Top 100 list.
Spring football games and jamborees are an ideal opportunity for high school football players to springboard their recruiting.
Depending on the quality of the teams involved, it’s common to see more than a dozen college coaches on the sidelines.
Several players have parlayed strong performances on the field into scholarship offers before they even get from the field to the locker room.
This spring will be no different.
Here’s a look at the top 10 games and jamborees college coaches should have circled this spring.
A couple things to keep in mind. One, not every team plays a spring game, and we’re not including intrasquad scrimmages on the list. That’s why perennial talent producers such as IMG, Chaminade-Madonna, and St. Thomas Aquinas aren’t mentioned.
Also, we’re prioritizing games where both teams have high-profile recruits. There are some big games with playoff teams, but they’re not on this list unless both teams have recruits with offers.
10. Gadsden County at Community School of Naples
Date: Friday, May 23
Headliners: Gadsden County 2026 LB Daylen Green, Community School 2026 OL George Haseotes
Gadsden County was the Class 2A state runner-up in the fall and returns a strong squad led by Green (No. 84 USA Today Florida Network top 100) and rising junior quarterback Landon Dougherty. The Jaguars also added rising senior Jakobe Green (Mississippi State commit), who likely will play on both lines but projects as an interior offensive lineman in college. Community School should have a strong run game behind Haseotes (No. 95, Vanderbilt commit), rising senior running back Jayvian Tanelus, and rising junior tight end Landon Wolny.
