Michigan State adds another piece to their revamped secondary.
Michigan State football continues to add to its revamped secondary, adding another key piece on Tuesday. The Spartans landed the commitment of Devynn Cromwell, a former Texas Tech safety.
Cromwell, who brings a lot of experience along with him to Michigan State, had an interesting path in football before making it to East Lansing with his final year of eligibility. Cromwell, who is from Toronto, Ontario, started his collegiate football career at the University of Guelph in Canada’s U Sports league. He then transferred to Texas Tech last year, where he had a productive season with the Red Raiders before going down with an injury.
Cromwell made two starts with Texas Tech, recording 20 tackles. According to Pro Football Focus, Cromwell only gave up three catches on eight total targets for a total of 14 yards. Not bad.
Cromwell was originally slated to be done with college football after last season, but was granted a waiver for one more year due to his years playing in Canada.
