Tennessee is recruiting its backyard for 2027 football prospects. The Vols offered a scholarship to four-star safety Kenneth Simon II from Bearden High School in Knoxville on Monday.
“Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee,” Simon II said.
The 6-foot-2, 198-pound prospect is the son of former Vols’ linebacker Kevin Simon. 247Sports ranks Simon II as the No. 27 safety in 2027 and No. 10 player in Tennessee.
Simon II was present at Tennessee’s junior day on Jan. 25. He unofficially visited Tennessee for the South Carolina basketball game and Orange & White game on March 8 and April 12, respectively.
Purdue was the first program to offer Simon II a scholarship on Nov. 11, 2024. Additional Power Four scholarship offers to Simon include Kentucky, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Florida, Nebraska, Auburn, SMU, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri and North Carolina.
Tennessee does not have any commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class. The Vols have seven commits for 2026: Quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, tight end Carson Sneed, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, wide receiver Tyran Evans, linebacker Braylon Outlaw and defensive lineman C.J. Edwards.
