One of Texas A&M’s priority prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington, is down to four potential destinations, as USC, Oregon, Penn State, Alabama, and the Aggies are the final programs vying for his commitment, and will all host him for an official visit in the coming weeks.
Since the start of his relationship with coach Mike Elko and his staff, Arrington has been around the program off and on since the start of the year, pitting the Aggies as slight favorites among the four other suitors. However, Alabama began to make strides, while USC, who is in his backyard, has ramped up its efforts amid the Trojan’s impressive recruiting haul in the 2026 cycle.
Last week, 247Sports analyst Brandon Huffman revealed that while Texas A&M should still be considered the favorite, his official visits to Oregon, Penn State, and USC will determine his final decision, also having to do with his background as a track & field star, as he plans to run in college as well.
However, Rivals Texas A&M recruiting analyst Landyn Rosow has stuck by his prediction that the Aggies will land Arrington, and if we’re talking track & field advantages, Texas A&M’s T&F program is one of the best in the country by far.
On the field, Arrington is one of the best athletes in the country. During his 2023 sophomore season, Arrington recorded 310 receiving yards, four touchdowns on offense, 25 tackles on defense, and a punt return touchdown on special teams.
For Aggies, Mike Elko sees him as a cornerback at this stage. However, like Texas A&M sophomore wide receiver Terry Bussey, it would be up to Elko to put Arrington on the right positional path if he chooses Texas A&M.
