BALLINGER — Ballinger ISD athletic director and football coach Ty Lang stepped down to accept a new position in Stephenville.
Lang will take over as Stephenville’s junior high coordinator and serve as an offensive assistant for the varsity football program.
Before taking over the Ballinger program three years ago, Lang spent time at Decatur and Brownwood.
During Lang’s three years at Ballinger, he compiled a 6-25 record. He took over a rebuilding program, and in his first two years, while the Bearcats were still in Class 3A, they finished with a 1-19 record.
After a move to Class 2A with realignment, the Bearcats had a breakout year, finishing with a 5-6 record and making the playoffs for the first time since 2021.
Ballinger ISD now has a short window to find a replacement before football fall practices start in early August.
