ESPN lists Texas A&M as a potential College Football Playoff team

Texas A&M’s 2025 season is critical for head coach Mike Elko, who enters his second season at the helm with plenty of expectations after landing 14 players from the transfer portal, while several members from the 2025 signing class should see play time this fall. However, nothing compares to starting quarterback Marcel Reed’s need to improve in the pocket.

This will continue to be discussed ad nauseam till the season begins, and while the spring season and Maroon & White spring game didn’t quite prove that he has improved as a passer, Reed’s accuracy and touch was on full display during several throws to his revamped wide receiver rotation, led by newcomers KC Concepcion and Mario Craver.

However, Reed isn’t the only player that will dictate the Aggies’ success in 2025, as defensive tackles DJ HIcks and Albert Regis will need to play more snaps next season given the lack of depth inside, while the four additions to the edge rotation will only help Cashius Howell and Rylan Kennedy in the pass rush.
