Auburn football among finalists for TE Xavier Tiller ahead of visit

Auburn will look to seal the deal to land Tiller during his official visit in June.

Auburn is the presumed frontrunner to land four-star tight end Xavier Tiller, and could close the deal next month during his official visit.

The talented tight end from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia, recently dropped his top-three schools, where it was revealed that Auburn will compete with in-state rival Alabama and ACC power Florida State for his signature in December. Experts from both On3 and 247Sports favor Auburn to be the winning program, and with a guy that is big on “relationships,” Hugh Freeze and his staff are in a great spot ahead of his June 6 official visit.

“Auburn for sure is one of my top schools,” Tiller said in an interview with On3’s Chad Simmons. “Coach Ben (Aigamaua) and Coach Freeze are on me hard. Coach Ben is on me every day. He talks about needing me and not just wanting me. Coach Freeze is pushing harder now, too.”

In terms of relationships, Auburn’s biggest competitor is Florida State. He told Simmons that Mike Norvell and the FSU staff made him feel welcome during a visit in January and that he learned more about the Seminoles’ offense. Alabama’s history of development is what stands out the most to Tiller, which is another important factor that he will consider when choosing a school.

Tiller is rated as a four-star tight end by most major recruiting outlets and ranks as high as the No. 4 tight end in the 2026 class by ESPN.
