A Michigan State football recruiting target in the 2026 class announced on Tuesday that he will be cancelling his Spartans official visit next month.
Karaijus Hayes of Sarasota, Fla. announced on Tuesday that he has cancelled his previously planned official visit to Michigan State for the weekend of June 6. Hayes made the announcement via a post on his social media X account.
Hayes is a three-star safety in the 2026 class. He is currently committed to Vanderbilt and may be sticking with that commitment with the announcement of his official visit to Michigan State no longer occurring. The Spartans, of course, could also have cancelled the visit for Hayes as his post on X didn’t clarify who was behind the cancellation.
Hayes ranks as the No. 76 safety prospect in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2026 class. He is also listed as the No. 98 player from Florida in the class.
Hayes holds offers from more than 25 programs, according to 247Sports. Some of the more notable programs to offer Hayes includes Vanderbilt, Michigan State, Miami (FL), Colorado, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Louisville, Missouri, SMU, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
