Michigan State football has extended an offer to a three-star quarterback prospect from Tennessee in the 2027 class.
Cooper Newman of Sevierville, Tenn. announced on Friday that he’s received an offer from the Spartans. He made the offer known by posting on his social media X account.
Newman is listed as a three-star quarterback in the 2027 class, according to On3. He ranks as the No. 35 quarterback and No. 14 player from Tennessee in the class.
Michigan State is one of a few big-time programs to recently extend him an offer. He has also picked up notable offers from North Carolina and Georgia Tech in May. Outside of those three schools, he also holds offers from Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, Toledo, Marshall, Bowling Green and Gardner-Webb.
It was reported on Friday that Newman will be taking an unofficial visit to Michigan State next month as well.
