3-star LB Angel Luciano commits to Minnesota over MSU, Cincinnati

A Spartans priority target in the 2026 class has committed to a fellow Big Ten program instead.

Angel Luciano of Harrisburg, Pa. announced his commitment to Minnesota on Sunday. The linebacker prospect took an official visit to Minnesota and it apparently went well with the Golden Gophers getting the notable commitment.

Luciano is a three-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 87 on 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 59 linebacker in 247Sports’ rankings and No. 25 player from Pennsylvania.

Luciano holds offers from nearly 20 schools, according to 247Sports. Some of the more notable schools to offer him includes Michigan State, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Indiana, Liberty, Maryland, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.

Michigan State was recently announced as a finalist for Luciano, with Minnesota and Cincinnati being his other two schools still in the mix. Luciano was scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan State on June 13 and Cincinnati on June 20. It’s unclear at this time if he’ll still be taking those other two official visits.
