Cam Coleman and Eric Singleton are poised to lead the Tigers to new heights in the passing game.
When last season began, a lot of people had high expectations for the Auburn wide receivers. That was the fans, coaches, and media. Auburn brought in a talented group of receivers from the transfer portal and high school. The highly touted Cam Coleman arrived as a five-star recruit out of Phenix City, Alabama with a lot of promise. Joining him in the recruiting class was Perry Thompson (also a five-star), Malcolm Simmons, and Bryce Cain. Hugh Freeze and staff also landed top transfer portal receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith.
The Tigers lost Lambert-Smith due to no longer having college eligibility. They did however make a big splash in the transfer portal by signing Eric Singleton from Georgia Tech and Horatio Fields from Wake Forest. Adding Singleton and Fields to the returning receivers from last season gives the Tigers a talented group.
PFF’s Max Chadwick ranked the Tigers wide receiver room as No. 2 in college football. Auburn is the only team on the list with two receivers in his individual top ten. Those two are Singleton and Coleman. Singleton is also high on many mock drafts for 2026. In two seasons with the Yellow Jackets, he caught 104 passes for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns. For Coleman, in his freshman season on the plains he caught 37 passes for 598 yards and eight touchdowns.
Auburn should be much better at the quarterback position with Jackson Arnold arriving on campus, and the future is bright with freshman Deuce Knight. On paper this is the best Auburn wide receiver group since the mid-2000’s. That group had Ben Obomanu, Devin Aromashodu, Courtney Taylor, and Anthony Mix.
