There’s a new No. 1 in the SEC football recruiting world as official visit season heats up. The Georgia Bulldogs have surpassed the Texas A&M Aggies and now have the SEC’s top recruiting class in the 2026 cycle.
Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia landed a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Carter Luckie to gain their 11th commitment in the class of 2026 and pass Texas A&M in the recruiting rankings. Georgia finished with the No. 2 signing class in the 2025 recruiting cycle and is off to an excellent start in the class of 2026. The Bulldogs have the SEC’s top commitment in five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, who is the second-best recruit in the country.
It is still too early to know how the SEC’s recruiting classes will stack up come December’s signing day, but they are a strong indicator of what schools like finish with good signing classes. Recruiting rankings are as of June 1.
