The Texas Tech football team’s 2026 recruiting class reached an even dozen on Sunday, June 8, with a commitment from Demarcus Marks, a defensive end from Spring Westfield.

Marks, listed by Westfield last season as 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, was credited with 27 tackles, including 8 tackles for loss with 4 sacks. The Mustangs finished 8-3 overall and 7-0 in District 14-6A. In their perfect run through district, the Mustangs allowed an average of 8 points per game, allowing no more than 15 points to any one opponent.

New Red Raiders defensive tackle A.J. Holmes, who transferred in from Houston in January, is from the same high school.

Tech had gone since mid-April without a commitment, but the one from Marks was the Red Raiders’ second of the day. Jacob Crow, a 6-8, 300-pound offensive lineman off a Class 3A state championship team from Alcoa, Tennessee, also pledged to Tech. Crow and Marks both announced their pledges on social media.

According to recruiting services, Marks has been offered scholarships by 12 schools, seven being FBS programs. Those seven are Tech, Utah, Colorado State, Jacksonville State, New Mexico, New Mexico State and Texas-El Paso.

The other defensive recruits committed to Tech are linemen Ayden Johnson from Mount Pleasant and Krush Johnson from Amarillo Tascosa; linebackers Tieson Ejiawoko from Georgetown East View and Cord Nolan from Bixby, Oklahoma; and defensive backs Maddox Quiller from Pflugerville…
