Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his staff hosted 18 prospects from the 2026 recruiting cycle this weekend, resulting in Saturday’s news that 2026 4-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton shut down their recruitment, and will sign with the Aggies later this year.
Knowing that Gregory and Hatton are locked down, Elko and OL coach Adam Cushing are focused on landing four-star offensive lineman Zaden Krempin, who took his first official visit to Texas A&M after his OV to LSU last weekend, as things are heating up for the Prosper (TX) native. However, the Aggies reportedly made a big impression on the standout tackle.
During an interview with GigEm247’s Andrew Hattersley, Krempin and his parents spent time with Mike Elko, Adam Cushing, and offensive coordinator Collin Klein. At the same time, senior left tackle Trey Zuhn III served as one of Krempin’s hosts on the weekend.
Still, the quote that stood out was just how well the visit went ahead of his upcoming official visits with two other finalists, Texas and Michigan, who have as good a chance to land the standout blocker as the Aggies.
“They made a great impression on all of us. I’m excited about possibly becoming an Aggie. I have two OV’s left Texas and Michigan and excited for those as well. So far I feel very confident I picked 4 greats schools to choose from.”
Lastly, Hattersley asked Krempin if he had decided on a timeline regarding his commitment, knowing that Early Signing Day is just around the corner on December 4.
“Hope to commit next month some time. Want to take these last two visits and discuss things with my family. Right now I’m in a great spot. LSU and Texas A&M have both made it clear they want me. I’m in no rush to commit but will the second I know what schools right for me.”
Currently, Texas A&M is likely tied…
