Rutgers lands 2026 Florida Linebacker Justin Edwards

Rutgers Football has landed three-star linebacker Justin Edwards!

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder plays his high school ball for Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida. He is the 20th commitment in the 2026 class for the Scarlet Knights, a class that is still ranked in the top 15 nationally. He is also the third linebacker of the class, joining Joey Kopec and Adam Shaw.

As a junior for the Eagles, Edwards racked up 52 total tackles, 15.0 tackles for loss, 10.0 sacks, two pass deflections, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He helped his team finish with a 10-2 record and a playoff birth.

Edwards received offers from several power five programs including Houston, Kentucky, Miami, Missouri, Ole Miss, Syracuse, UCF, Wake Forest, and Virginia. He had official visits to checkout both Kentucky and Miami over the next couple of weeks, however with his commitment he decided to cancel those meetings. He visited Syracuse before he made his way to Piscataway.

He also ran track in high school, recording a time of 53.37 in the 400 meter dash.

Edwards is rated as an 89 on 247, the closest number a three star can be to a four star.
