WEST LAFAYETTE − The future of Purdue football’s secondary appears to be in good hands.
One day after the Boilermakers secured a commitment from cornerback Emoni Smith, Raderrion Daniels added to Purdue’s 2026 class.
The three-star defensive back by 247Sports had three interceptions, 12 pass breakups and two forced fumbles last season at Lake Cormorant (Mississippi), according to MaxPreps.
Daniels becomes the 11th verbal commitment in Purdue’s 2026 recruiting class.
He joins Smith and Dana Greenhow as defensive backs among those 11.
What Raderrion Daniels’ commitment means for Purdue football
This season, Purdue’s secondary will look different.
The Boilermakers lost every significant player from their secondary via the transfer portal, but coach Barry Odom and staff restocked through the portal.
However, seven of those players have just one season of eligibility left, meaning when Daniels arrives, the Boilermakers will have the opportunity to fill gaps on the depth chart.
Assuming all three 2026 verbal commitments sign with Purdue and the four defensive backs on the current roster with eligibility return, the Boilermaker secondary as of now would consist of: Ryan Turner, Myles Slusher, Traveon Wright, Chalil Cummings, Greenhow, Smith and Daniels.
