Crest football junior standout Majay Thompson’s stock is swiftly rising this summer on the college recruiting trail.

The latest school to throw its hat in the ring was coach Manny Diaz and Duke, which offered the Charger speedster on Monday.

“#AGTG (All glory to God) Extremely blessed to receive an offer from Duke football,” Thompson said, relaying the news by way of social media.

Duke becomes the eighth to offer the 6-foot, 186-pound receiver, joining Appalachian State, Charlotte, East Carolina, Gardner-Webb, Liberty, Marshall and Old Dominion as programs to offer Thompson.

Thompson transferred back to Crest this offseason, returning to the program for which he started his high school football career in 2023. He played the latter portion of his freshman campaign and his full sophomore season at Shelby High, where he caught 51 passes for 787 yards and eight touchdowns in 18 games. He was also credited with a rushing touchdown.
