Running back DeSean Bishop 2025 season preview for Tennessee football

DeSean Bishop enters his third season at Tennessee in 2025. The 5-foot-10, 208-pound redshirt sophomore appeared in 10 contests for the Vols in 2024.

He totaled 455 rushing yards and scored three touchdowns on 74 attempts in 2024. His longest rushing attempt was 53 yards. Bishop averaged 45.5 rushing yards per game and 6.1 rushing yards per attempt.

He also recorded one reception for 10 yards in the Vols’ season opener against Chattanooga.

Bishop’s season-high for rushing yards in a game (120) and rushing touchdowns (2) was against Kent State on Sept. 14, 2024.

He did not play in any contest during the 2023 season at Tennessee, earning a redshirt. Bishop is from Karns High School in Knoxville.

Tennessee will kick off its 2025 football season Aug. 30 versus Syracuse at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Kickoff between the Vols and Orange is scheduled for noon EDT and will be televised by ABC. 2025 will mark the fifth season for Tennessee under head coach Josh Heupel.
