East Lincoln football standout Jaxon Dollar’s continues to rise on the recruiting trail.
A hot commodity, the 6-foot-5, 208-pound talent added another school to his list of suitors earlier this week when Clemson threw its hat in the ring. He was offered by Clemson co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Kyle Richardson, who also starred at South Point High in the mid-1990s.
“Death Valley was a great experience,” Dollar said via social media following last week’s visit to Clemson. “Nice facility and good camp environment. I appreciate (Richardson) for inviting me and making sure I left better than I came. I hope to make it back to campus and meet the staff soon!”
The offer is the latest on what has been a busy summer thus far for the Mustangs’ rising junior. To date he’s received 19 offers, Clemson joining a crowded field including Alabama, Auburn, Boston College, Cincinnati, Florida State, Michigan State, Missouri, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn Stte, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Troy and Virginia Tech.
Being recruited as a tight end, Dollar is rated as a four-star tight end by 247Sports. Last fall, he finished with 13 catches for 224 yards and six touchdowns. Also a defensive lineman, he had 32 tackles (one for a loss), three sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Dollar also stars on the basketball court, where he earned North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (NCBCA) all-District 10 honors. This past season, he scored 15.8 points per game to go with 7.8 rebounds 6.1 assists, three steals and 2.1 blocks for the East Lincoln boys hoops…
