Tennessee is trending to receive a commitment for its 2026 football recruiting class.
Chad Simmons of On3 predicts four-star defensive lineman Dereon Albert will commit to the Vols on Thursday.
The 6-foot-2, 305-pound prospect is from Jackson Academy in Jackson, Mississippi. Albert is a dual-sport athlete, competing in shot put and discus at Jackson Academy.
247Sports ranks Albert as the No. 28 defensive lineman in 2026 and No. 8 player in Mississippi.
Tennessee offered him a scholarship on Aug. 23, 2023. Albert officially visited Tennessee on June 13.
Liberty was the first school to offer him a scholarship. Other SEC schools to offer Albert a scholarship include Auburn, Missouri, Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Kentucky.
The Vols have nine commitments in their 2026 football recruiting class: quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, tight end Carson Sneed, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, linebacker Braylon Outlaw, defensive lineman C.J. Edwards, defensive lineman Zach Groves, safety K.J. McClain and safety Luke Thompson.
Linebacker JP Peace is committed to Tennessee’s 2027 recruiting class.
