Four-star wide receiver Tyren Wortham flipped his commitment from UCF to Michigan State.Wortham, a class of 2026 recruit, is ranked No. 387 nationally and the 59th best receiver by 247Sports composite rankings.
Michigan State football’s busy recruiting month continued on Sunday, June 22, when the Spartans flipped four-star wide receiver recruit Tyren Wortham from his commitment to UCF.
Wortham first committed to UCF back in April of 2025, but reportedly continued to take official visits at other schools, including at Georgia and MSU.
The 6-foot, 175-pound receiver in the 2026 class reportedly took an official visit to Michigan State on Friday, June 20, then announced his intentions to play for coach Jonathan Smith and the Spartans on Sunday, according to On3 Recruits, saying “I’m ready right now. Go Sparty!”
Wortham is a four-star prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings, rated as the No. 387 player in the 2026 class and the 59th best receiver.
The soon-to-be senior plays for Booker High School in Sarasota, Florida, and chose the Spartans over offers from Georgia, Kansas State and Arizona, among others.
He is now the second highest rated player in MSU’s class of 2026, behind only offensive tackle Collin Campbell from Gilbert, Arizona.
Wortham is the second wide receiver in MSU’s class, joining three-star Zachary Washington from Wheaton, Illinois, and the 19th overall commitment. Of those commitments, 15 have come this month.
Smith’s class is ranked 23rd in the nation, according to 247Sports.
