UGA offers local athlete that began playing football two months ago

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to class of 2027 tight end and edge rusher recruit Success Nwabude, who is a local product. Nwabude plays high school football for Athens Christian in Athens, Georgia.

Nwabude is an unranked rising junior recruit, but he has excellent measurables. The 6-foot-7, 245-pound edge rusher recently received a scholarship offer from the South Carolina Gamecocks. Nwabude has impressed college coaches at camps this summer.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were the first Power Four program to offer Nwabude. Florida State and Liberty offered the Athens Christian standout a few days later. Nwabude is a good student and also plays basketball.

Success Nwabude’s offer from Georgia football

Of course there’s one thing that stands out about Nwabude. He’s never played in a football game. He just picked up the sport in April, so Nwabude has a lot to learn.

Success Nwabude’s brother, Godslove Nwabude, plays college basketball for Eastern Michigan. He averaged 1.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game as a freshman in 2024-2025.

Success Nwabude’s length and athleticism standouts out. He’ll be an interesting local player to watch develop over the years.
