Jonathan Brown, a running back from St. Francis de Sales in Columbus, Ohio, committed to Michigan football’s 2026 class.Michigan’s 2026 recruiting class now has 11 commitments and is ranked No. 43 nationally.
There’s no hour too late for Michigan football to secure a commitment.
Minutes after midnight struck going into the morning of Sunday, June 22, running back Jonathan Brown pledged to join the Wolverines’ 2026. What’s particularly notable? The 6-foot-1, 200-pound ball carrier comes from St. Francis de Sales in Columbus, Ohio, just six miles north of Ohio Stadium.
The Buckeyes reportedly did not offer Brown, according to 247 Sports.
“I am thrilled to announce my commitment to (Michigan),” he posted on social media. “Thank you God my parents for all the sacrifices you’ve made (St. Francis de Sales football) and finally (coach Sherrone Moore and coach Tony Alford) for believing in me. #GoBlue”
Brown is not a particularly heralded prospect, so this seems to be a developmental selection more than anything else for U-M. He does not have a consensus ranking on 247 Sports’ composite list, and according to the site the only other power conference offer he currently holds is from Rutgers, in addition to all three military academies, Cornell, Kent State and Eastern Kentucky.
This makes 11 commitments for the Wolverines in the 2026 class, which is currently ranked No. 43 nationally.
