The University of Colorado announced plans for a “Stripe Out” at Folsom Field during its 2025 football season, marking one of the most anticipated fan engagement events. Colorado fans, coordinated by section, will wear black or white for the season opener against Georgia Tech on Aug. 29.
The athletic department revealed the details on social media Tuesday morning, which included a color-coded map for ticket holders to determine which color to wear. One interesting note is that the student section won’t participate in the “Stripe Out” with all eight sections instead wearing white.
Last season, the Buffs held their “Stripe Out” game during the season opener against North Dakota State, one of four themed game day outfits for 2024. Other themes that Colorado football could add to this year’s slate include a whiteout, “Gold Rush” and blackout.
Colorado’s matchup with Georgia Tech is expected to draw a large crowd, as it is an anticipated non-conference matchup between the two schools that shared the 1990 National Championship. The Buffs’ family weekend game against Wyoming has already sold out, and tickets to the season opener versus the Yellow Jackets are limited.
Deion Sanders and the Buffs are looking to build on last year’s momentum that saw them finish 9-4, only missing out on the Big 12 Championship game on a tiebreaker.
