The Oklahoma Sooners have their quarterback situation settled for the 2026 recruiting class after Bowe Bentley committed to OU last Friday. And it seems they may well be on their way to having the answer to their 2027 quarterback question.
On Tuesday evening, Brandon Drumm of OUInsider and Rivals entered a Futurecast favoring the Oklahoma Sooners to land four-star quarterback prospect Peyton Houston. Houston, out of Louisiana, is considered the No. 1 quarterback in the class, according to ESPN. He’s the No. 6 QB in the cycle per Rivals. It’s the second prediction from the OUInsider crew favoring the Sooners. Drumm’s Futurecast comes a year after Parker Thune, also of OUInsider and Rivals predicted Houston to the Sooners last year.
Houston currently holds 26 Power Four offers, including 10 SEC offers at this point. It’s clear he’s one of the most sought-after passers in the class.
He was in Norman for Oklahoma’s Future Freaks weekend back in March and had a glowing review of the Sooners.
“The atmosphere and the people in Oklahoma are what continue to bring me back,” Houston told Sooners Wire back in March. “The players and coaches all seem to be in the same thought process and all have bought into the program.”
While there’s a long way to go in Houston’s recruitment, the Sooners have put themselves in a strong position to land the talented passer out of Louisiana.
