The Tar Heels have landed a four-star safety in the 2026 class.
Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels are on a bit of a hot streak in terms of recruiting, and on Wednesday, they have added another player to their 2026 recruiting class.
North Carolina added a big piece on defense with the commitment of a four-star safety as Jamarrion Gordon pledged his verbal commitment. The Alabama native picked the Tar Heels over fellow finalists Florida, Florida State and Ole Miss. He recently visited UNC in late May and took a visit to both Florida and Ole Miss as well.
The visit to UNC in late May was enough for him to make his decision and commit to the Tar Heels.
The 6-foot, 185-pound safety hails from Jackson, Alabama and is ranked No. 422 nationally, No. 39 safety and the No. 17 player in the state of Alabama per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. With Gordon’s commitment, UNC now has 24 commitments in the 2026 class which is ranked in the top 20 as of now.
