Greeneville athlete Zaydyn Anderson announced his decision to commit to Tennessee football and coach Josh Heupel’s 2026 class on social media June 28.
“First I just want to thank God for this opportunity, I also want to thank my parents and everyone around me for making me who I am today, coaches, trainers, etc. who took time out of their day, I also want to thank all the coaches that gave me a chance to play at the next level,” Anderson wrote on X.
The three-star Anderson is 5-foot-11, 165 pounds and capable of playing on both sides of the ball.
During the 2024 season, he played at wide receiver and cornerback, catching 28 passes for 713 yards and 25.4 yards per carry and 11 touchdowns. He also had four interceptions.
Anderson was named Region 1-4A athlete of the year in 2024. He’s also a track and field star, winning the Tennessee AA 200-meter dash and long jump state championships as a sophomore.
Anderson is ranked No. 11 in the 2026 class in Tennessee, according to the 247Sports Composite, and No. 31 in the 2026 athlete rankings.
Anderson received offers from 12 other schools, including Cincinnati, Liberty, Colorado State and Wofford. Anderson is the Vols’ 12th commit for the class of 2026.
Tennessee has secured three commitments in a little over one day with Stone Bridge edge rusher Kedric Golston and St. Frances Academy offensive lineman Edward Baker committing on June 27.
