A four-star defensive back has set his commitment date. Devin Jackson will make the official announcement on Thursday, July 3, at 11:00 a.m. CT in his hometown of Winter Garden, FL.
Jackson will decide among five finalists: Nebraska, Florida, LSU, Miami, and Oregon. He initially committed to Florida in July 2024 before he decommitted in mid-April, becoming the second defensive back in the 2026 class to do so after position coach Will Harris left Florida to join Miami.
Jackson is listed as the No. 14-ranked safety and the No. 19-ranked prospect in the state of Florida according to the On3 recruiting ratings. Nebraska’s class of 2026 holds nine commitments and is ranked No. 52 nationally and No. 18 in the Big Ten.
The highest-ranked recruit in the class is cornerback Danny Odem out of Orlando, FL. Jackson would be the second defensive back and the second-highest-ranked recruit should he commit to the Huskers on July 3.
Nebraska appears to be facing an uphill battle for the prospect as Oregon is viewed as the frontrunner, with his former team in Florida also still very much in the running.
