4-star OL Malaki Lee announces commitment

The Georgia Bulldogs unfortunately missed on a key target: Four-star offensive tackle prospect Malakai Lee committed to the Michigan Wolverines. Lee, a highly sought-after talent, chose Michigan despite strong recruitment efforts from Georgia, Texas and Alabama.

Lee plays high school football for Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha Secondary. He is the second-best recruit in Hawaii. The Hawaii offensive lineman is Michigan’s highest-ranked offensive line commit in the the class of 2026. Michigan has 17 commitments in the 2026 recruiting cycle and the nation’s No. 9 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive tackle is ranked as the No. 137 recruit in the nation and the No. 10 offensive tackle.

While the loss of a prospect like Lee is a setback, Kirby Smart and his staff are actively pursuing other top-tier recruits. The Bulldogs recently received a commitment from No. 1 defensive lineman James Johnson and are in the mix the nation’s No. 3 tight end Kaden Prothro, who is set to commit on July 12. Georgia boasts 24 commits in a class that ranks second nationally.

The Bulldogs recently have picked up commitments from four-star safety Chace Calicut, four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge, four-star running back Jae Lamar, four-star linebacker Shadarious Toodle, four-star edge rusher Khamari Brooks and three-star defensive lineman Corey Howard in this week alone.
