A program with an extensive amount of momentum on the recruiting trail at the moment, could yet another major commitment be coming for the Alabama Crimson Tide?
Yes, on Thursday afternoon, Alabama was named among the finalists for another one of the nation’s elite recruits, this time coming from in-state in highly-touted edge rusher Anthony “Tank” Jones.
Per a report from Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, Jones has narrowed down his list of finalists to three, listing the Crimson Tide alongside both Oregon and Texas A&M.
According to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Jones is currently considered as the nation’s No. 16 overall prospect in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 3 edge rusher nationally. A five-star prospect, Jones is also ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the state of Alabama where he attends St. Paul’s Episcopal School.
Alabama’s 2026 class currently ranks No. 6 nationally, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings, with 17 total commitments, three of which are five-star prospects. The most recent of those came this past Wednesday when wide receiver Cederian Morgan committed to the Crimson Tide.
