LEXINGTON — The monkey is off their backs.
For the first time since the 2021 season, the Lexington Minutemen can end Week 1 of the high school football season 1-0 thanks to a 36-16 win over the Ontario Warriors on Friday night. The Minutemen took a 13-6 lead after the first quarter, owned a narrow 22-16 lead at the half and turned it over to the defense and run game in the second half to the tune of a 14-0 advantage. The Minutemen overcame five turnovers but created plenty themselves to start the year 1-0.
