Former Louisville quarterback Harrison Bailey transferred to Florida and is second on the depth chart.Twenty-seven players transferred from Louisville after the 2024 season, with Bailey among 15 landing at Power Four schools.
Despite some health concerns, DJ Lagway is Florida’s starting quarterback this season. But that hasn’t stopped former Louisville football quarterback Harrison Bailey from standing out.
Bailey opted to use his final year of eligibility with the Gators. He’s reportedly second on the depth chart as No. 17 Florida opens its season against Long Island on Aug. 30.
“This is a dream school of mine. I knew when the opportunity arose, this is the place I wanted to be and finish out my college career,” Bailey said about Florida in April. “Wherever it goes, it goes from there.”
This is Bailey’s second stint in the SEC after opening his college career at Tennessee. The Georgia native also had a stop at UNLV before spending the last two seasons at Louisville. He ended his time with the Cardinals by garnering Sun Bowl MVP honors, throwing for 164 yards and three touchdowns against Washington.
“He naturally has a lot of confidence,” U of L coach Jeff Brohm said of Bailey after the game. “It’s a great quality for a quarterback when you haven’t played a whole lot and you’ve got to go in a bowl setting against a really good football team and just do what we need to do and manage the team and be efficient, get us in the right play, run the football, throw it to receivers, get touchdowns. He did all those things.”
