Michigan State football came up just short in a recruiting battle of note on Saturday.
Three-star offensive lineman Adrian Hamilton announced his commitment to Virginia Tech on Saturday afternoon. Michigan State was one of Hamilton’s finalists, with Virginia, Pitt and West Virginia also in the mix.
Hamilton holds a recruiting rating of 87 on 247Sports, and ranks as the No. 67 interior offensive lineman in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2026 class. He is from Washington, D.C. and is listed as the No. 5 player in the class from that area.
The Spartans were one of three schools to host Hamilton for an official visit in June, and appeared in a good spot to land his commitment. This is still a prospect we could see Michigan State continue to pursue, especially with Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry entering this season on the hot seat. If things don’t go well for him this fall and a move is made, Michigan State would certainly be back in the mix for Hamilton should he reopen his recruitment.
