Notre Dame is recruiting as well as anyone in the country.
On Friday, the Fighting Irish earned a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Jaydon Finley.
And with that, they moved ahead of rival USC in the national recruiting rankings, according to On3 Sports.
In fact, Notre Dame is No. 2 in the entire country for the Class of 2026. Only Georgia holds a slight edge.
Using On3’s rankings, Notre Dame has passed USC for the No. 2 class in the country after Kaydon Finley’s commitment.
Georgia is just barely ahead of the Irish’s impressive class.

Notre Dame is close to Georgia despite having four fewer commits in the class right now than the Bulldogs.
Each has one 5-star, with Notre Dame two behind apiece in 4-stars (16 to 14) and 3-stars (10 to 8)
The Fighting Irish beat out USC by having one 5-star to zero, and by having a higher average class ranking.
On3 also reports NIL data, and Notre Dame has dished out about $55,000 less per recruit than On3 says No. 3 USC and No. 5 Alabama have.
The Fighting Irish certainly have a pedigree and mystique about them. They also just played in the national title game and have an enthusiastic young coach, Marcus Freeman. All of that seems to be working in their favor.
