Vanderbilt Commodores QB Diego Pavia could leave Vandy for chance in CFL

Diego Pavia is one of the most fun quarterbacks in college football.

And when he’s done shining at Vanderbilt, he should have a professional football opportunity.

If the NFL doesn’t appreciate Pavia’s skillset, he’s got an alternative: the Canadian Football League.

The CFL recently released the league’s entire negotiation rights list. Teams can garner the right to offer a first contract to certain players who aren’t already in the league.

Pavia’s negotiation rights belong to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

It doesn’t mean he’ll leave Vandy early.

It just means that if Pavia decides to try out the CFL, it’ll be Winnipeg with the first chance to sign him.

First, Pavia will take the field for another exciting fall with the Commodores. They’ll chase upsets and a bowl win and maybe, just maybe, make a second-half run toward the playoff.

Anything feels possible with Pavia at quarterback, which is a great feeling to have.
