Oregon football 4-star Tristan Phillips makes recruiting announcement

The Oregon Ducks have been hot on the recruiting trail over the last several weeks, landing several big-time commitments, including a couple of 5-star prospects. Of course, in today’s age of recruiting, getting a commitment is one thing, but holding onto that commitment until December when National Signing Day rolls around is another thing entirely.

Fortunately, the Ducks got some good news on that front Saturday afternoon, with 4-star linebacker Tristan Phillips taking to social media to make an announcement on his recruitment.

According to Phillips, he is shutting down his recruitment in the future and will not be taking any other visits to entertain new offers from prospective teams. In a sense, he is locked in with the Ducks and is just waiting for signing day to roll around.

Phillips is Oregon’s only LB currently committed to the 2026 class, and 247Sports rates him as the No. 212 player in the class, and No. 12 LB.

While Oregon is undoubtedly happy to have him shut his recruitment down, they are still going to work on adding another LB to the class as well, with 5-star Tyler Atkinson and 4-star Nick Abrams Jr. remaining on the board for them. Neither player has an official commitment date set as of yet, but both are expected to come off the board in the next month.
