USC’s 2025 football season kicks off in just a few days! With the start of the year just around the corner, lots of preseason predictions are now coming in.
In a recent story, Los Angeles Times USC beat writer Ryan Kartje predicted every game of USC football’s 2025 regular season. Kartje has the Trojans going 8/4, with the losses coming to Illinois, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Oregon.
“It’s only right, I guess, that after suggesting USC could go anywhere from 6-6 to 10-2, I end up settling right in the middle,” Kartje wrote. “USC’s defense is going to take a step forward this season — I feel confident about that much. But there are still too many questions on offense, namely along the offensive line, for me to trust the Trojans to beat teams like Illinois, Nebraska, Notre Dame or Oregon on the road. It’s up to [quarterback Jayden] Maiava to make me eat my words.”
Going 8-4 would be an improvement from the Trojans’ 6-6 regular season last year. However, but the program’s lofty standards, that would still not be considered a particularly successful campaign. USC fans are certainly hoping that Kartje is underestimating the Trojans, and that they can win more than eight games this fall.
