The top-ranked defensive back in the Sunshine State is staying home.
Chauncey Kennon, a five-star corner out of Booker, announced his commitment to Florida State on Sunday afternoon.
Kennon is ranked as the No. 1 cornerback in the USA TODAY Florida Top 100, and is the No. 8 player overall in the state. He also has that ever-coveted and elusive fifth star on 247Sports.
He named the Seminoles over a Top-6 that included Georgia, Florida, Oregon, LSU, and Miami.
Kennon tallied 33 tackles for Booker last year with an impressive 16 pass breakups, one interception, and a forced fumble.

Scouting report: Kennon’s lightning-fast speed and shifty footwork have made him one of the most sought-after recruits in the state. He doesn’t shy away from big hits, and is very effective in run support. His long arms are huge plus, and are a big reason he broke up a ridiculous 16 passes last year.
