Where LSU’s recruiting class would rank with 5-star Lamar Brown

Louisiana’s top 2026 prospect Lamar Brown announces where he’ll play college football on Thursday. LSU is one of four teams in the race for his commitment.

Over the past few weeks, the Tigers fell in the rankings after missing on a few of their top targets. Gaining a commitment from one of the nation’s top talents, especially in their own backyard, would boost their standing.

Should Brown choose to play in his home state, LSU’s team score from 247Sports’ Class Calculator would improve to 268.60 and rank No. 7 in the nation. Its current score of 254.75 is No. 11. The Tigers would also be fourth in the SEC.

Brown attends University Lab and his decision will be nationally televised from the school’s gym in Baton Rouge. LSU has recruited the defensive tackle for years now, and gaining his commitment would give head coach Brian Kelly’s staff a major boost heading into fall camp.

While LSU currently sits outside the top 10, the Tigers have a chance at the nation’s No. 1 overall class. LSU only has 14 commits, but LSU’s average recruit rating is the best in the country.
