Offensive tackle flips from Penn State to Syracuse

Penn State’s 2026 recruiting class was on the wrong end of a recruiting flip on Wednesday.

Three-star offensive tackle Roseby Lubintus, who had been committed to the Nittany Lions since April, unexpectedly switched his pledge to Syracuse, he announced on X.

Lubintus ranks as the No. 16 recruit from New Jersey, No. 81 offensive tackle and No. 996 overall player in the cycle per the 247Sports composite. Following his departure, Penn State’s class is down to 24 members and held its spot at No. 15 nationally.

The Nittany Lions were likely drawn to Lubintus’ frame, as he’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 350 pounds with another year of high school ball remaining. Penn State and Syracuse were two of the schools he took official visits to, along with Michigan State.

Penn State’s class is now down to four offensive linemen, though the staff may look to add another before signing day.
