Blake Stewart commits to Dabo Swinney in 2026

CLEMSON — Clemson football and coach Dabo Swinney added their third safety in the 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star Blake Stewart.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder from Woodward Academy in Atlanta is rated the No. 37 player in Georgia by the 247Sports Composite rankings. Stewart logged 80 tackles, two interceptions and eight pass deflections in his junior season and recorded 38 catches for 467 yards and three touchdowns, per MaxPreps.

Stewart chose Clemson over Michigan, Miami and Vanderbilt and announced his commitment on July 13. He is Clemson’s 21st commitment in the 2026 class. He will join safeties Kentavion Anderson and Kaden Gebhardt and cornerbacks Marcell Gipson and Shavar Young Jr. as Clemson’s defensive back commits.

Swinney’s 2026 class is ranked No. 11 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. It has 15 four-star recruits and six three-stars commits. It is a complete change from last year’s cycle that finished with 15 signees and ranked 26th nationally, which was Swinney’s lowest-rated cycle since 2010 and his smallest class since 2017.

Stewart is the third recruit from Georgia in the 2026 class to commit to the Tigers, joining Dre Quinn and Kameron Cody. Stewart is also the ninth defensive player to commit to Clemson.
