Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss football land 2026 recruit Nascar McCoy

OXFORD — Coach Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss football beat out top college programs to land Nassir “Nascar” McCoy.

McCoy committed to Ole Miss on July 25. He is a three-star safety in the 2026 class, and the No. 490 player in the 247Sports composite rankings. He is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound player from Buford, Georgia. He plays at Buford High School.

McCoy announced his decision in a public ceremony that was streamed. He chose the Rebels over Georgia, Michigan, Miami, Texas A&M and others.

“It’s an amazing coaching staff,” McCoy said at his ceremony. “Those guys, Lane Kiffin, (defensive coordinator Pete Golding), (safeties coach) Wes Neighbors, everybody else over there … I’m ready to be apart of it.”

Kiffin and the Rebels are up to 15 players in the 2026 recruiting class. Five of the players the Rebels have landed have four-star rankings, with the rest coming in at three stars. McCoy is the fifth defensive back in the class, joining Craig Tutt, Iverson McCoy (Tupelo), Jett Goldsberry and Braylen Williams.
