Tennessee is recruiting to flip a commitment for its 2026 football signing class from a rival in the SEC.
The Vols offered a scholarship to three-star Kentucky tight end commit Lincoln Watkins.
The 6-foot-4, 233-pound prospect plays for Port Huron Northern High School in Port Huron, Michigan. 247Sports ranks Watkins as the No. 31 tight end in the class and the No. 9 player in Michigan.
Kentucky offered Watkins a scholarship when he officially visited on June 17. He committed to the Wildcats on June 21.
Missouri and Florida also offered Watkins a scholarship from the SEC.
Tennessee has 22 commitments in its 2026 football recruiting class: quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, linebacker Braylon Outlaw, defensive lineman CJ Edwards, defensive lineman Zach Groves, safety KJ McClain, safety Luke Thompson, defensive end Kedric Golston II, offensive lineman Edward Baker, wide receiver Zaydyn Anderson, quarterback Legend Bey, defensive lineman Dereon Albert, linebacker TJ White, cornerback Jamyan Theodore, defensive lineman Darryl Rivers, wide receiver Javonte Smith, linebacker Brayden Rouse, safety Jowell Combay, offensive lineman JB Shabazz,athlete Joel Wyatt and athlete Salesi Moa.
