Michael Bergeron (b. April 17, 2005) is a athletic young walk-on safety out of Mill Valley High School in Shawnee, Kansas, who is majoring in business administration.
Last season, Bergeron saw action in all 13 games as a member of the four core special teams units and tied for fourth on the team with three special teams tackles, which came against Arizona, West Virginia and Houston.
He saw time on 220 special teams plays during the season, which included 79 on kickoff coverage and 63 on kickoff returns, and finished as an Academic All-Big 12 performer.
Bergeron, who redshirted and did not play in 2023, prepped under head coach Joel Applebee at Mill Valley, where he was part of a program that earned four straight Kansas Class 5A state championships.
Bergeron, a 2023 Kansas Shrine Bowl participant, totaled 161 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, eight passes defended and two forced fumbles during his final two prep seasons for the Jaguars.
He was named a 2022-23 National Football Foundation (NFF) Coach Bill Snyder Family/Sunflower Chapter Scholar-Athlete Scholarship winner. (Watch his highlights here.)
Bergeron walked on at K-State over a competing preferred walk-on offer from Kansas.
