Longhorns 5-star QB commit Dia Bell says SEC rival trying to flip him

Arch Manning heir apparent Dia Bell says he’s still being recruited by one SEC power

It’s been a great summer for Texas Longhorns quarterback commit Dia Bell. The five-star signal caller was the MVP of the prestigious Elite 11 QB camp and was soon elevated to the top QB recruit in the nation by every recruiting service.

The possible Arch Manning heir apparent could be the starting QB in two to three years. That is, unless a rival SEC power flips him. Bell tells Rivals’ recruiting analyst Marcus Benjamin that LSU has continued to heavily recruit him even though he’s committed to Texas.

The former Florida Gatorade Player of the Year says LSU has been there from the beginning and they’re pushing for a visit. “It’s really LSU,” Bell told Rivals. “They’ve always been there. I’ve always had a great relationship with [offensive coordinator] Coach [Joe] Sloan. He’s still chipping away, trying to get me to come out, but I have not made any plans to visit LSU at this point.”

LSU doesn’t have a QB commit in the 2026 class yet, so any resources they put into trying to flip Bell is worth it from Tigers coach Brian Kelly’s perspective.

The five-star has been committed to Texas for over a year. He is the fourth Longhorns QB commit since the mid 1990s to be ranked as either the No. 1 or No. 2 overall prospect in the nation. The others were Chris Simms (1999), Vince Young (2002) and Arch Manning (2023).
