According to a report from Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, a top Alabama Crimson Tide 2026 football commit has officially shut down their recruitment.
That commit is Jireh Edwards, who announced Saturday that he would be shutting down his recruitment. Edwards joins others such as Xavier Griffin and Kamhariyan Johnson as Alabama commits to shut down their recruitments.
One of the biggest names in Alabama’s 2026 class, Edwards is currently considered as the nation’s No. 33 overall prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 3 safety nationally. A five-star recruit, Edwards also ranks as the No. 4 player in the state of Maryland where he attends national powerhouse St. Frances Academy.
Edwards has been committed to Alabama since July 2025.
