Week 0 is here, and while Stanford is the lone ACC program (still weird to say, isn’t it?) on the schedule with a trip to Hawaii, the excitement for the return of college football major conferences is reaching a fever pitch.
With No. 4 Clemson and Florida State settling their legal squabble with the conference off the field, the ACC is one big happy bi-coastal family once again, but which program is the best?

Week 1 opponent: LSU
What to know: There is no need to overthink this. Dabo Swinney’s Tigers could make a case for being the best team in the country, let alone the ACC.

Week 1 opponent: Notre Dame
What to know: A Week 1 date with Notre Dame will show us what to make of this season’s Hurricanes, and it feels like the fate of Miami’s season rests on the arm and the health of Carson Beck.
3. SMU
Week 1 opponent: East Texas A&M
What to know: All aboard the Pony Express. In a debut season that landed the Mustangs in the College Football Playoff, quarterback Kevin Jennings and crew are one of the ACC’s top teams in their sophomore season in the conference.
Week 1 opponent: Colorado
What to know: Haynes King and the Yellow Jackets added a new deep threat in 2024 All-American wide receiver Eric Rivers. A trip to Colorado will test Georgia Tech’s readiness for “Prime Time” in a season where Brent Key’s squad could contend for a playoff spot.
