Whit Weeks and Harold Perkins represented LSU’s defense on the preseason All-SEC Coaches’ team. They landed on the first and second team, respectively.
Both return to Baton Rouge after recovering from injuries. Perkins went down in week four, while Weeks was carted off the field during the second quarter of LSU’s bowl game against Baylor.
Ahead of his junior year, Weeks is garnering All-American hype and comes back as the team’s leading tackler. Last year, he ranked second among SEC linebackers in pressures and stops. Another step forward in development and production could solidify Weeks as a first-rounder in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Perkins emerged as a pass-rushing threat immediately upon joining the Tigers. His move to inside linebacker in 2023 dampened his numbers, but he’s set for a versatile role in his second season under defensive coordinator Blake Baker. The senior will play the STAR position on some downs and see snaps at edge and linebacker too.
